AFG vs IRE 2024: Rashid Khan Returns, Afghanistan Announces Strong 15-Members Squad for the T20I Series against Ireland: Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) unveils their 15-member squad for the three-match T20I Series against Ireland. Afghanistan star spinner Rashid Khan returns to the side as a skipper after a long time due to the lower-back surgery. However, Afghanistan’s other key players also made their spot in the squad.
After Winning the ODI series against Ireland, Afghanistan will be playing the three-match T20I series against Ireland, which is scheduled to start on March 15, 2024. All three matches will be played at Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah, UAE and the match will start from 9:00 PM (IST).
Rashid will be leading the Afghanistan Team in this T20I series and it is expected that Afghanistan will win this series by 3-0 against Ireland. Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi, Noor Ahmad and Mujeeb Ur Rahman are the key spinners of Afghanistan and they have performed phenomenally in the past.
However, Afghanistan’s batting department might put them in trouble but Ibrahim Zadran, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Azmat Omarzai have played good cricket in the ODI series. Afghanistan won the three-match ODI series against Ireland by 2-0 as one match was washed out due to heavy rain in Sharjah.
The Return of Rashid to the team will be a massive boost for Afghanistan as he adds a lot of strength and value to the teams with his experience of playing in different franchise cricket across the globe. Rashid hasn’t played a single match after the ODI World Cup 2023 but it is expected that he will perform well in the first game.
