IPL 2025: The Lucknow Super Giants decided to form a new core side with a new skipper, Rishabh Pant. Pant could not lead them to the playoffs, as this would be the second consecutive season that LSG has failed to make the cut to the top four spots in the knockouts. LSG, after their loss against SRH at the Ekana, have been knocked out of contention for the playoffs.

With the Lucknow Super Giants now knocked out, the Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals remain in contention for the final spot in the IPL 2025 playoffs. The Gujarat Titans, Punjab Kings, and Royal Challengers Bangalore have already qualified for the playoffs.
