ICC has announced the suspended qualification pathway to the ICC Under 19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2022 in the West Indies, where 34 teams will compete for five World Cup spots.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the postponed qualification pathway to the ICC Under 19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2022 in the West Indies, wherever 34 teams will compete for five World Cup spots.
The 14th Season of U19 T20 Cricket event who hold spots in the West Indies in initial 2022 will include Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies, and Zimbabwe by merits of their best 11 finish in the 2020 season. The remaining five spots will be determined by regional qualification. Qualification for the 2022 season of the U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup was delayed due to COVID-19 by a year.

The teams from the other three zones, Americas, EAP, and Europe will have one qualifying method, with the winner of each regional Qualifier claiming one of the five coveted ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2022 places.
ICC Head of Events, Chris Tetley: “The ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup showcases the expected stars of our game, with several top-class cricketers throughout the world, have featured at this event. The qualification pathway also provides teams with the opportunity to represent their improvement at this level, with the likes of Japan and Nigeria qualifying for the last edition of the Men’s U19 CWC for the first time ever.
