The mega auction of the IPL is always one of the most watched events in the calendar year. The auction will be held when India plays against Australia in the first Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024/25 in Perth. Disney Hotstar is the official broadcaster for both events and hence wants to avoid a clash between the two events. However, due to the difference in time zone, the streaming of both events will not coincide with each other.

46 players have been retained by the 10 franchises with a cumulative expenditure of Rs 558.5 crore. With over 200 slots up for grabs, the IPL 2025 mega auction is set to start as early as 11 AM IST on two days of the bidding process.
