India has announced their latest squad for the Hong Kong Cricket Sixes tournament in 2024, as IPL veteran and World Cup winner from 2007, is all set to take up the leadership role for India. Indian cricketer, Robin Uthappa will lead India, as the cricketer was one of India’s finest T20 cricketers, though he excelled mostly in the Indian Premier League.


Uthappa has played many successful seasons in the IPL, while his most highly performed season came back in 2014 when Kolkata Knight Riders won their second IPL title. Uthappa alongside Gambhir was seen scoring 650+ runs at the top of the order.

The Hong Kong Cricket Sixes tournament will be taking place from November 1st to 3rd, while the matches will feature at the Mission Road Ground in Mong Kok.

The squad also includes the likes of other Indian players like Kedar Jadhav, Manoj Tiwary, Stuart Binny, Shahbaz Nadeem, Bharat Chipli and lastly wicket-keeper Shreevats Goswami. Among the likes of these players, Chipli and Goswami have never featured for India in international cricket though.

The lineup consists of a wicket-keeper in Goswami, alongside other players in Jadhav and Binny who can be said as all-rounders. While Tiwary and Uthappa can also splurge in scope with the ball, since, an over is to be bowled by every player.

The first game will feature India against Pakistan, the encounter which will be played on the 1st of November. The other teams who are set to be a part of the 12 participating teams in the HK6 will also include Australia, England, Bangladesh, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Nepal, Oman, Sri Lanka, South Africa, and the United Arab Emirates. This would be only a small 3-day tournament to be played for only 6 overs per game.
