BCCI Secretary Jay Shah Announces New Incentive Scheme for Test Cricket, Check Out Full Details: After India’s win over England in the five-match test series by 4-1, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah made a significant announcement regarding the new Incentive Scheme for the test cricket to shift the focus toward domestic cricket over franchise cricket. This was a great move by BCCI to five financial incentives to domestic players for red-ball cricket.
The New Test Incentive Scheme will commence for the 2022-2023 season and under this scheme, the domestic players will get an additional reward structure over the top of the match fee and as of now, it is set to be around 15 lakhs for test matches. BCCI introduced this incentive scheme as young players were focusing on franchise cricket over red-ball cricket and it is expected that this might be quite successful.
BCCI strict action against Ishan Kisan and Shreyas Iyer:
However, Players get a big amount for playing franchise cricket but this additional incentive scheme will definitely will be a game changer for domestic cricket like the Ranji Trophy. This move came up after BCCI took strict action against Ishan Kisan and Shreyas Iyer, who refused to play Ranji Trophy despite being fit and available for the tournament therefore BCCI removed them from central contract list.
India Defeated England in the fifth test match in Dharamshala:
Indian Team played a dominating cricket in the fifth test match as they defeated England by an inning and 64 runs on Day 3 at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala.
