PSL 2024: WATCH!! War of Words Between Pakistani Player Shan Masood and Shadab Khan in the Pakistan Super League 2024: Islamabad United defeated Karachi Kings in the match no. 24 of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 by 5 wickets at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. During this match, The Skipper of Islamabad United Shadab Khan had a heated verbal exchange with the skipper of Karachi Kings Shan Masood. However, the Umpires and other players took them away to avoid a further clash.
In the 10th over of the second inning, Islamabad United were chasing the target of 151 runs but the umpire’s decision over the wide ball led both the team’s skipper to a heated exchange of words. Shan Masood was surprised by the umpire’s delayed call over the simple wide ball therefore he took the Decision Review System (DRS) to challenge the umpire’s decision.
After Karachi Kings skipper Shan Masood took the DRS, Shadab Khan was batting at one end approached him and this led to a heated argument between both the players. The video footage of this incident between the two Pakistani players went viral over social media platforms. However, Fans have a mixed reaction to this incident.
PSL 2024 Karachi Kings vs Islamabad United Match Summary:
Karachi Kings batted first and they had a decent start as they lost a couple of wickets in the starting few overs of the inning. The middle-order batters also failed to score runs, which led them on the back-foot. However, Kieron Pollard played a superb knock of 39 runs in 28 balls with three sixes and fours and led Karachi Kings to 150 runs on the scoreboard with a loss of seven wickets.
From Islamabad United bowling department, Tymal Mills took three wickets whereas Faheem Ashraf took two wickets in this match. Both the Pacers gave wonderful performances and restricted Karachi Kings to a decent target of 151 runs in 20 overs at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
In the second inning, Islamabad United easily chased the target in just 18.4 overs as Salman Ali Agha and Skipper Shadab Khan made a match-winning partnership of 58 runs for the third wicket. Shadab Khan scored 34 runs in 26 balls whereas Salman Ali Agha scored 33 runs in 30 balls.
In the end, Haider Ali played a match-winning knock of 26 runs in just 16 balls with 2 fours and one six. From the Karachi Kings bowling department, Mir Hamza took three wickets whereas Blessing Muzarabani and Zahid Masood took one wicket each. Karachi Kings failed to perform with both bat and ball in this match.
