India Clinch the ODI series against New Zealand: India was the winner of the first match in the ongoing ODI series between India and New Zealand, and Rohit Sharma’s brilliant innings of 51 runs at Raipur ground on Saturday helped India win the series against New Zealand. New Zealand Army at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Cricket Stadium, Raipur. In 3 overs, they were all out for 108 runs.

Chasing a target of 109 runs, India were riding on Shubman Gill’s unbeaten innings of 40 runs in 20.1 overs. Earlier, Mohammed Shami took three wickets, Hardik Pandya and Washington Sundar two while Mohammed Siraj, Shardul Thakur and Kuldeep Yadav took one each as India bundled out New Zealand for 108 runs. Host captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to field against the Blackcaps in the second ODI. India has now taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. They had registered a narrow 12-run win in the opening game in Hyderabad.

Raipur proved easy for India after a thrilling win in Hyderabad. The fast bowlers won the game for India in the early exchanges, reducing New Zealand to 15/5 inside 11 overs. The visitors had Glenn Phillips (36), Michael Bracewell (22) and Mitchell Santner (27) to thank for saving them a blush, but were dismissed for 108.
