As the ten teams of IPL 2023 compete their retaition and release players’, all the teams have submitted their players’ documents to the IPL board. The IPL season 16 auction is going to be held in Kochi on December 23rd.
Captain Kane Williamson has been released by Sunrisers Hyderabad befor IPL 2023. SRH has not appointed anyone for the post of captain from among its retained players. Sunrisers have three potential players who can be contenders for the captaincy.

Sunrisers Hyderabad have enough money for the IPL 2023 auction after players retaintion, making Mayank Agarwal their first choice and Ben Stokes as their second choice. All-rounder from Sri Lanka Dasun Shanaka can also be an option in this list.
Mayank Agrawal:
Apart from Kane Williamson, SRH in IPL 2023 auction will also need a new opening batsman in IPL season 16. Indian youngster Mayank Agarwal would be a perfect choice for the position of opener and captain. Mayank Agarwal played an important role of captaincy for Punjab Kings.
Ben Stokes:
England’s all-rounder cricketer Ben Stokes is known to play and win cricket matches of all three formats. He Was awarded the Player of the Tournament in IPL 2017. Ben Stokes also has great experience leading England in a number of Test matches.
Dasun Shanaka
The Sri Lankan player Dasun Shanaka who is currently the captain of Sri Lanka could also be an option. Dasun Shanaka is an all-rounder player who gave an impressive performance in the Asia Cup 2022.
