In the 13th match of World Cup Qualifier 2023, Zimbabwe defeated West Indies by 35 runs at Harare Sports Club. The chances of the West Indies for the World Cup 2023 decreased after losing the last match against Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe is now at the top of the points table after winning the last match, and now they have six points in three matches at a Net Run Rate of +0.917.
Sikandar Raza performed outstandingly with both ball and bat against the strong side of West Indies. Sikandar Raza scored crucial 68 runs in the first innings, and with the ball, he took two wickets of the West Indies at a crucial time. For his outstanding performance, he got the Player of the Match award.
In the first inning, Zimbabwe came to bat first and started well with a partnership of 61 runs for the first wicket. Captain Craig Ervine played 47 runs innings, Ryan Burl scored 50 runs innings, and Sikandar Raza scored 68 runs innings, leading his team to 268 runs on board.
From the bowling side, Keemo Paul took three wickets, whereas Akeal Hosein and Alzarri Joseph took two wickets each. Rostan Chase and Kyle Mayers took one wicket each.
In the second inning, West Indies came to bat and gave decent start hence made a small partnership of 43 runs for the first wicket. Kyle Mayers played 56 runs innings, Shai Hope scored 30 runs, Nicholas Pooran 34 runs and Rostan Chase 44 runs but failed to chase the target of 269 runs against the good bowling side of Zimbabwe.
From the bowling side, Tendai Chatara took three wickets, whereas Blessing Muzarabani, Richard Ngarava and Sikandar Raza took wickets each. Wellington Masakadza took one wicket in seven overs. Sikander Raza turned the match in favour of Zimbabwe after taking the wicket of Captain Shai Hope.

Zimbabwe played fantastically in Qualifiers at home. They won all their matches in Qualifiers, and now confirmed their spot in Super Six after defeating Two Times Champion West Indies by 35 runs. Currently, Zimbabwe has 6 points in 3 matches.
