India has named Tanuja Kanwar as the replacement for Shreyanka Patil in the Women’s Asia Cup after Patil fractured her left-hand finger: The Asian Cricket Council announced on 20 July that Shreyanka would not participate further in the tournament due to her injury, which she sustained while attempting to take a catch in the match against Pakistan.

In the match against Pakistan, Shreyanka Patil made a big contribution by getting two wickets for 14 runs in 3.2 overs, which helped to bowl out the opposition.

She finished the match despite her injuries. Patil also sustained a little fracture to the same hand earlier this year while playing in the Women’s Premier League (WPL).

Despite this setback, Patil finished the season as Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s leading wicket-taker with 13 wickets, including a four-wicket haul in the final that enabled RCB to win their first WPL title.

Her replacement, Tanuja Kanwar, is a spinner who had an impressive performance in the WPL for the Gujarat Giants, taking 10 wickets in eight matches with an economy rate of 7.13.

India defeated Pakistan by seven wickets after needing 14.1 overs to chase down 109 runs. At the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium in Dambulla on Sunday, July 21, they will play UAE in their second Women’s Asia Cup encounter.
