WPL 2023 Winner Prize Money: Full List of Award-Winners, Best Performances, and Stats: On Sunday, March 26, the inaugural Women’s Premier League came to a close when Mumbai Indians became the first team to win India’s top women’s T20 league.
In a thrilling final at Mumbai’s Brabourne Stadium, the team captained by Harmanpreet Kaur overcame the Meg-Lanning-led Delhi Capitals by seven wickets and cemented their place in history.
Delhi, who elected to bat first, could only muster 131/9 in their opening innings as Issy Wong and Hayley Matthews took three wickets each, shattering the foundation of their batting. As Delhi was in trouble at 79/9 after 16 overs, it appeared as though they might be all out for less than 100 runs.

However, a 52-run partnership off just 24 balls for the last wicket between Shikha Pandey (27* off 17) and Radha Yadav (27* off 12) guided them to a competitive total.
Mumbai’s response saw them struggling at 23/2 after 3.4 overs after losing their openers Yastika Bhatia and Hayley Matthews early in the innings. Mumbai stayed in the game thanks to a 62-run third-wicket standoff between Harmanpreet Kaur and Nat Sciver-Brunt.
Mumbai needed another 37 runs to win from 23 balls after Harmanpreet Kaur was run out in the 17th over, which left the game wide open.
After losing her captain, Mumbai Indians were able to reach their goal with three balls remaining thanks in large part to Nat Sciver-stunning Brunt’s innings of 60* from 55 balls.
