Womens Asia Cup: The ninth edition of the Womens Asia Cup is underway, and it has reached its final stage. The very first edition took place back in 2004 with only two teams, India and Sri Lanka. Pakistan made their debut in the second edition in 2005. Bangladesh joined in the fourth edition of the Womens Asia Cup 2008.

The fifth edition in 2012 saw a total of 8 teams, and since then, 7-8 teams have played. So far, a total of nine editions have taken place, including the ongoing one. Sri Lanka have hosted the most three times, then India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, China, Thailand, and Malaysia have hosted one edition each. 4. Bangladesh – 1 Time

Bangladesh are one of two teams to win the tournament. They made their debut in 2008 and have played six editions so far. Their best performance came in the 2018 edition when they qualified for the final. Bangladesh women faced India in the final and won by three wickets to win the tournament. This is their only final appearance.

3. Pakistan – 2 Times

Pakistan started playing from the second edition. The Women in Green have not won the Womens Asia Cup until now. But they have played two finals back-to-back in 2012 and 2016. They lost both finals against India Womens.

2. Sri Lanka – 6 Times

Sri Lanka women and India women started the first edition. Sri Lanka women have been a consistent team in the first 5-6 editions. Overall, they played five finals in the tournament’s history. But unfortunately, they haven’t won a single one. They have lost all five finals against India.

Womens Asia Cup is a tournament for India womens. The Women in Blue have dominated all the teams in this tournament’s history. From the very first edition, India have made it to the finals of all the editions. They lost only one final so far in 2018, but no other team has challenged them until now.
