WI vs SA: The South Africans are traveling to the West Indian Islands for a recent ongoing series of T20 matches. The first T20 was a showcase of stunningness from the West Indian batters, as they chased down 175 comfortably with heroics from openers and Pooran.

In the second match, they saw the Windies bowlers who excelled towards the back end of the innings and struck for 7 wickets with just 20 runs as they bowled out the visitors for 149. The credit and lauding were attained by Shamar Joseph and Romario Shepherd, who stepped as the West Indies’ best options on the field.

The first match had already seen several records being broken, as after South Africa’s early scare, it was the young Tristian Stubbs who stepped up and led from the front with 76 runs scored at a strike rate of 180. He was partnered by Patrick Kruger from the back end, and they together led them to a decent total of 174.

For the West Indies, it was Shai Hope and Athanaze who batted very well up the order and gave them the start they needed; however, it was Pooran who smacked the ball and sealed the match for the Windies with his 65* striking at 250.

In this innings, Nicholas Pooran broke the record of Suryakumar Yadav for most T20I sixes. He smashed 139 sixes with the 7 he hit in his innings, as he went past Surya, Maxwell, and Jos Buttler in the elite list of most T20I sixes.

The second game was a much more settled game, as every batter batted well, contributing to the score before the West Indies reached 179, with Hope and Powell being the highest scorers from the Caribbean team.

In response to the target of 180, South African openers, especially Reeza Hendricks, scored a stunning 44 runs on just 18 balls, striking at 244, a great show from the Protea upfront. The middle-order struggled as well, with Stubbs also failing this time.

It was the heroics of the pacers as, 129/3 in the 14th over, the Proteas then struggled as Motie and Akeal Hosein began the carnage, which was taken forward by Shepherd, who ended 3/15 alongside Shamar Joseph’s end figures of 3/31, his career best.

South Africa hence were bowled out for 149, as a result of which this 30-run win marked the West Indies sealing the series and winning the third consecutive series against South Africa in the shortest format of the game.
