It was a high-scoring clash, and both teams showed some amazing batting displays, but in the end, it was Aaron Jones who led the hosts to a stunning win with one of his blistering knocks while chasing.

Chasing a big score of 195, the USA made 197/3 in just 17.4 overs to script one of the highest chases in T20 World Cup history. Jones smashed the fastest T20I fifth for the USA off just 22 balls. He remained unbeaten on 94 runs off 40 balls, including four fours and ten sixes, to take his team home. He also won the Player of the Match award for his blistering knock.

T20 World Cup 2024: Aaron Jones’ old tweet for Virat Kohli goes Viral

It was an exciting night for the USA fans who have witnessed such a big cricket event for the first time, and it was rightly a great game to kick off the tournament. Aaron Jones was at his striking best and did what he is famous for. His unbeaten knock has 10 sixes, which is the most by a non-opener in an innings in the T20 World Cup. But as he won the game for his team, some of his old tweets went viral on social media.

Notably, Aaron Jones is an admirer of Virat Kohli and has tweeted while praising the former Indian captain. In one of his tweets in 2013, he wrote, “Watching some Virat Kohli videos.” Meanwhile, one tweet in 2014 says, “Virat Kohli is a champion.” Without a doubt, Virat is probably the biggest cricketer of this generation, and it won’t be a wrong statement to say that he is the face of cricket at the moment.

He has been an inspiration to many around the world, and his passion and hunger make him a global icon. He is also the highest scorer in T20Is and T20 World Cup history. Virat is all set to be back on the field on June 5, when India will take on Ireland in their opening match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in New York.
