The PCB has served South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch a legal notice for preferring participation in the IPL 2025 for the Mumbai Indians over his previous signing for the PSL team Peshawar Zalmi.

Peshawar Zalmi roped in Bosch for the upcoming season of the PSL, which clashes with the 18th edition of the prestigious Indian Premier League. However, after South African pacer Lizaad Williams was ruled out from the IPL due to injury, the Mumbai Indians decided to bring in fellow countryman, Bosch to replace him in the squad.

As a result of Bosch’s inclusion into an IPL team in March 2025, he decided to opt out late from the Peshawar Zalmi side, where he was signed back in January 2025. The IPL is scheduled between 22nd March and 25th May, while PSL will be played between 11th April and 18th May.

This sudden opting out of the PSL disappointed the franchises in Pakistan, and they seemed keen on taking some sort of action as this could set a precedent for the players signing in the future in the PSL.

Such a move was also seen in the IPL this season, as English promising star Harry Brook, who was picked by the Delhi Capitals, also decided to opt out of the IPL season. As a result of this, Brook has been banned by the BCCI’s IPL governing committee for 2 years, and now PCB has followed in their footsteps to issue legal notice to a player.

The PSL window was shifted from its previous frame as it earlier clashed with leagues like SA20, ILT20, and the Bangladesh Premier League. However, now they have faced further trouble as it has clashed with the biggest among franchise leagues, the Indian Premier League [IPL].

However, the overseas players who went unsold in the IPL auction showed great interest in playing in the PSL and were drafted for the season. It includes the likes of Kane Williamson, David Warner, Jason Holder, Rassie van der Dussen, and Daryl Mitchell, previously who have had immense glory in the IPL, with Warner being the highest overseas run scorer in the history of the IPL.

50 Pakistan players in The Hundred Draft – PCB ashamed over not even a single player picked

No Pakistan player picked in ‘The Hundred’ Draft

The Hundred is a special edition of the shortest format of the game organized by ECB. This includes 100 balls played in each inning and the fourth season included 50 Pakistan players in the draft, while even the likes of greats Shadab Khan and Naseem Shah could not attract a single bid.

Many Pakistan sports journalists and players have come forward and claimed that the involvement of a large number of IPL team owners in The Hundred has led to the snub of Pakistan players from the draft.

However, with sight over their recent modest performance in white-ball cricket and their snub from the home Champions Trophy without a single win. After such a disappointing show, this seems obvious that no franchise has dared to show interest in Pakistani players in a white-ball format.
