Australian Team Preview Before the Ashes 2023:
The Australian team is sitting soundly on top of the WTC table. After the embarrassment at the hands of a young Indian team, they have come back with redemption. The team is on a roll. They have beaten every opposition that has visited them ever since. The Ashes of 2021 is one such example where the English team got blasted. The players have shown immense character. Travis Head, Usman Khawaja, and Scott Boland are new names but still managed to give big performances. Here is a look at the top run-getters:
Player Name | Runs | Average | Best |
Usman Khawaja | 1275 | 79.3 | 195* |
Marnus Labuschagne | 1265 | 57.2 | 204 |
Steve Smith | 1107 | 55.5 | 200* |
Travis Head | 973 | 54.4 | 175 |
England Team Preview:
The English team had a dreadful start to the WTC 2023 campaign. The start was so horrible that they had to sack their coach. Brendon McCullum had to step in and ever since the team is on the rise. They have adopted the “Bazzball” strategy in the red-ball format as well. With that being said, they can get the big runs in less time. They batted at 7.2 runs an over against Pakistan in the 1st Test match at the Pindi Cricket Stadium and won the game eventually. Players like Harry Brook, Zak Crawley, and Ben Stokes help to adapt to this policy. They will do the same in the Ashes 2023.
