The TATA IPL is a place where opportunity meets talent. In fact, that is the motto of the TATA IPL. Over the years we have seen many young players become the face of their teams. One cannot forget Ambati Rayudu celebrating with Nita Ambani, the CEO of Mumbai Indians after their first win in 2013. There are many such great relationships developed between the owners and the players.
For example, we have Sanju Samson and Manoj Badale, the CEO of the Rajasthan Royals, and we also have Sanjeev Goenka and KL Rahul. The Delhi Capitals CEO in one of the press conferences has named one such young, 23-year-old as their game changer in absence of Rishabh Pant. Here is a look at which player he is talking about:
Delhi Capitals CEO Names Prithvi Shaw as their Game Changer for TATA IPL 2023:
Dhiraj Malhotra, the CEO of the Delhi Capitals franchise, which has a WPL and an IPL team under its control has expressed his belief in Prithvi Shaw being the game changer. In the absence of Rishabh Pant, the Delhi Capitals have appointed David Warner as their skipper. David Warner is an experienced professional and has previously led the Sunrisers to an IPL victory. But while selecting a game changer, Dhiraj Malhotra picked the 23-year-old Prithvi Shaw.
“Shaw Performs well Every Year in the TATA IPL”, Says Dhiraj Malhotra:
Dhiraj was in conversation with the Times of India, just prior to the TATA IPL 2023 season and this is what he had to say about Shaw, “If you see him, he performs well every year. He made us win a couple of games last season, but he has been unfortunate. He fell sick and I think that’s what actually deterred him, not his form or the way he approaches the game. I still feel that this year he will be a game-changer for us. In the powerplays, the way he plays will have a big impact on the way DC goes in the tournament”
On Rishabh Pant’s Absence:
When enquired about how crucial Rishabh Pant as a player was, this is what he said, “100 percent. Not only was he a captain, but he was also our really strong number four, number five wicket-keeper batter, who controls the game from behind the stumps. No bowler could stop him.”
The new outlet further asked if Rishabh would be present as a member of the dugout, to which Malhotra said, “The plan is to get him, for sure. But again, the dugout is controlled by BCCI. Let’s see if they make an exception. We will request him in some of the home games. He’s also in his rehab. So, it also depends on how much he will be available. But for us, the most important thing is to get him back to complete fitness.”
