Hardik Pandya becomes top T20I all-rounder after stellar performance at ICC Men’s T20 World Cup: Indian star all-rounder Hardik Pandya has climbed two places to join Sri Lankan star Wanindu Hasaranga at the top spot with his unparalleled performance.
As Men’s T20 International All-rounder. The all-rounder, who made a big contribution by taking the crucial wickets of Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller in the final, performed well with both bat and ball to become the first Indian to reach No. 1 in this category.
When the team needed him, Hardik Pandya succeeded with the ball and put up an outstanding showing further down the batting order. At a batting strike-rate of above 150, he amassed 144 runs while taking 11 wickets.
His most significant contribution, though, came in the championship game when he delivered the game-changing blow that put South Africa ahead in the contest—the wicket of Klaasen.
In order to assist India win the T20 World Cup, Hardik bowled a nervous final over and held off 16 runs. The top 10 T20I all-rounder rankings saw additional changes, with Marcus Stoinis, Sikandar Raza, Shakib Al Hasan, and Liam Livingstone all rising one spot apiece.
Mohammad Nabi fell out of the top five, falling four spots. Anrich Nortje finished narrowly behind top-ranked Adil Rashid with 675 rating points after moving up seven spots to a career-best second place in the men’s T20I bowling rankings.
Star pacer Jasprit Bumrah of India, who took home the Player of the Tournament award at the T20 World Cup for his 15 wickets, climbed up 12 spots to take his highest ranking since late 2020, although he remained outside the top ten. Kuldeep Yadav advanced three spots to tie for eighth in the bowling rankings, entering the top ten.
Other risers include Tabraiz Shamsi, who climbed five spots to reach the top 15, and Arshdeep Singh, who rose four spaces to a career-high 13th ranking after leading the T20 World Cup in wickets.
The top 10 batting rankings barely moved, with the exception of South Africa skipper Aiden Markram, who dropped two points following a lacklustre performance in the tournament.
