From the Australian Side, Marcus Stoinis played a superb inning of 67 runs in 36 balls whereas David Warner made 56 (51) and both led their team to a decent 164 runs on the scoreboard in 20 overs. Australian batters played responsible cricket against Oman on the bowling surface of Kensington Oval in Barbados.
Omani Pacer Mehran Khan took two wickets whereas Bilal Khan and Kaleemullah got one wicket. Oman bowlers could have performed quite better and the result might be in their favour. Oman’s team management needs to fill the gaps to get the ticket for the Super 8 round in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.
In the second inning, Oman was able to score 125 runs with the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs against Australia in Barbados therefore they lost the match by 39 runs. The Top-order of Oman’s batting unit collapsed earlier in the inning but the middle-order batters showed some resistance as Aryan Khan and Mehran Khan scored 36 and 27 runs, respectively.
From the Australian bowling unit, Marcus Stoinis took three wickets whereas Mitchell Starc, Nathan Ellis, and Adam Zampa got two wickets each. Australian bowlers performed fantastically in the starting few overs but they failed to replicate the same in the middle overs.
