Suryakumar Yadav congratulated Manu Bhaker on winning the first medal at the Paris Olympic 2025. The second day at Paris Olympic 2024 has brought some good news for India. They have bagged their first medal at the event. It came after a historic performance by 22-year-old Manu Bhaker, who competed in the final of the women’s 10 metre sir pistol event.
This was India’s first medal in the ongoing event, as they are looking to surpass their tally of seven medals in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. With this, the 22-year-old also became the first female shooter to win an Olympic medal. Overall, she became the fifth shooter to bag this feat. She showed great determination and calmness throughout the event. Bhaker started the final round in second place but slipped and finished in third place to win the bronze medal for the country.

Manu Bhaker’s winning bronze medal has opened India’s tally at the event. The 22-year-old had some strong performances before heading into the final, as she finished with a total of 580 scores. This has come as good news for all the Indian fans.
Indian T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav also congratulated her by sharing a story on his Instagram handle. He is currently in Sri Lanka for a three-match T20 series which is underway and led India to a 43-run win in the first game on Saturday and also won the Man of the Match award. The Indian captain shared a few stories on his Instagram.
India won their first game by 43 runs and have a 1-0 lead in the series. The second game will take place on Sunday at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. Suryakumar Yadav started well in his first game as permanent T20I captain and also scored his 20th fifty in this format.
He will look to carry on the momentum and lead India to win the second game as well. On the other hand, Sri Lanka women beaten India women in the final of the Women’s Asia Cup 2024. With this, they won their maiden Women’s Asia Cup title.
