Rohit Sharma is in the final phase of his international career, but it looks like he introduced his 2.0 version, which is all about thrashing the opposition irrespective of the situation or opponent. That’s why he has become more dangerous.

After leading India to the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 a couple of months back, the Indian captain returned to the ongoing ODI series against Sri Lanka. But despite a break of more than one month, Rohit Sharma has carried the same form in the series.

He slammed a 33-ball fifty in the first ODI, but it couldn’t help India to win as the game was tied. But the Indian captain is making sure that India win the second game. That’s where he has slammed a fifty even faster off just 29 balls.

Rohit Sharma has been at his best in white-ball formats. In the second game, he slammed a 29-ball fifty, which came within the powerplay. It was his 57th ODI fifty, which came a pretty quick time. Interestingly, the Indian captain brought up his fifth with a six, just like he did in the first game.

As soon as Rohit Sharma got to his fifty, he took a giant step as an opener in international cricket. The Indian captain registered his 121st score of 50 or more in international cricket. With this, he surpassed the Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar to register most 50+ scores as an Indian opener in international cricket.

Rohit Sharma scored 64 off 44 balls, with five fours and four sixes in his innings in the second game. It was his fourth ODI fifty within the powerplay. The Indian captain also took over former Indian head coach Rahul Dravid (10768) and became the fourth-leading run scorer for India in ODI cricket.

Rohit Sharma has scored 11831 runs in 256 innings at an average of 49.23, with 31 centuries and 57 half-centuries. India added 97 runs for the first wicket in 13.3 overs, but after that, India lost five wickets for just 36 runs, and it will be a tough decision.
