PAK vs SA: The Pakistan national cricket team will travel to South Africa to play an all-format series, as they will play the longest format of the game and the other two limited-over formats as well.
The Pakistan cricket team recently aced the longer limited-overs format in Australia, as the new skipper, Mohammad Rizwan, led them to a historic ODI series win in Australia after a long span of 22 years.
This iconic feat marked some breathtaking performances from their ace fast bowlers, especially Haris Rauf, who caused major trouble for the Aussie batters on their own soil with his sheer pace and sublime accuracy.
Last time around, under skipper Shan Masood, Pakistan’s red-ball skipper, they won their first home series after a span of almost 3 years, as they defeated England owing to the immense help from their spinners.
Pakistan selectors dared to drop the likes of Babar Azam, the most veteran player in the home test series, a move that helped them turn their fortunes. Noman Ali and Sajid Khan, the two left-arm spinners who picked 39 of the 40 wickets for Pakistan in the two tests, have now been broken due to Sajid’s exclusion from the squad to South Africa.
Shan Masood leads the Pakistan Test side, while Saud Shakeel will continue as the vice captain. On the other hand, Mohammad Rizwan will be resuming his role as the Pakistan skipper for the white-ball formats and Salman Ali Agha as his deputy.
The likes of great fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi have also been dropped from the Test side, while Naseem Shah has been left out of their T20I squad.
