PAK vs AFG 1st ODI 2023: Pakistan Bowlers All out Afghanistan at 59 and won the match by 142 runs: Pakistan and Afghanistan were playing the First ODI of this series at Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium. Pakistan won the first ODI by 142 runs.

Pakistan played a dominant cricket in this match, their batters struggled a lot while batting at this ground, and they got all out at 201 runs, but the bowlers, especially the Pacers, showed a wonderful performance. 

The Player of the Match was Harish Rauf, Who took his first wicket Haul in ODI Cricket for Pakistan. Shaheen Shah Afridi has also bowled well and helped his team to all out Afghanistan at 59 runs.

Afghanistan lost the first ODI match after having a poor performance by batters. The Spinners of Afghanistan bowled excellent spells and stopped Pakistan at 201 runs, but they couldn’t get support from the batting department and hence got defeated.

PAK vs AFG 1st ODI 2023 Match Summary:

Pakistan won the Toss, and they decided to bat first; Pakistan lost three Wickets in the powerplay, and the Skipper Babar Azam got out a duck.  Imam-ul-Haq and Iftikar Ahmed made a crucial partnership of 50 runs for the fifth wicket, and this partnership saved Pakistan from collapse at a very low score.

In the end, Shadab Khan and Naseem Shah scored 39 and 18 runs, respectively and led their team to a decent score of 201 runs on the scoreboard in 47.1 overs. From the Afghanistan Side, Mujeeb-ur-Rahman took three wickets, whereas Rashid Khan and Mohd. Nabi got two wickets each.

In the second Inning, Afghanistan came to chase the target, but they had a very poor start as they lost two wickets in the third over. Afghani batters were struggling against the strong pace attack of Pakistan.

The Five Batters from the Afghanistan side got out at Duck. Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Azmatullah Omarazai scored 18 and 16 runs, respectively, and Except for these two batters, no other player had scored 10+ runs in this match.

Afghanistan underestimated Pakistan’s bowling department hence resulting in a massive defeat in the first match of the ODI series. Most Importantly, Asia Cup 2023 is going to start after a week, and such a performance from Afghanistan might put them in trouble.
