The Duleep Trophy’s first round has begun and all four teams have named many of the international stars into the sides as per the BCCI guidelines for placing them into the domestic cycle to recognise their talent for the global front.
However, despite big names in all squads not many have been able to perform well with the bat at both the Chinnaswamy and the Anantapur stadiums. On the other side at Team C and Team D’s outing with Anantapur, Axar Patel emerged as their only successful aid after a humiliating batting collapse. Next, he also went on to pick 2 wickets of Juyal and Patidar after his 86 run-knock.
While in India A vs India B outing, more of India’s best players have been placed for both sides. With players like Yashasvi Jaiswal, skipper Easwaran, Sarfaraz Khan, Rishabh Pant and NK Reddy all going out cheaply, they needed a miracle to survive.
Rishabh Pant is making his return to tests after 634 days since injury ruled him out for many years. Still, he got out as Shubman Gill the skipper of India A took a stunning catch running backwards to dismiss him on a miscued shot.

When they were reduced to 94/7, they saw their messiah in the 19-year-old, Musheer Khan, the younger brother to Sarfaraz who batted since the fall of the first wicket.
Musheer Khan batted stunningly, and he went on to score his Duleep Trophy hundred on debut, after proclaiming himself as one of India’s finest domestic batters after his double-hundred in Ranji qualifiers, fifty in semis, a hundred in the final and now a Duleep Trophy hundred on debut.
Khan rescued his team as they ended on a strong note at the end of Day 1, with Musheer not out on 105* alongside no.9, Navdeep Saini who gave him good support with 29*, as they were 202/7 at stumps, after 108* runs 8th wicket partnership.
