IND vs SA: The grandfinal of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 is all set to take place on Saturday at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados. Two teams that have not lost a single game in the tournament will come up against each other in this big game. It will be a clash between India and South Africa, and one of them will take their winning streak to the title. India have not won an ICC title since 2013.
On the other hand, South Africa have made it to its maiden T20 World Cup final. So a lot will be on the line for these two teams here, but only one can end up holding the trophy. This match will be a clash between the Indian spinning attack and the South African pace attack. Both teams have some really good batters who can turn the heat on. Meanwhile, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has also announced the list of match officials for the IND vs SA final.

Rohit Sharma and his team have been phenomenal so far, and they have beaten all of their opponents, except in one no-result match. But their biggest challenge will be when they take on South Africa in the final. It is not the opponent, but the pressure of winning the knockout games. Notably, India have made the ICC finals of all three formats in the last year or so; they have lost two already and will hope to win this one.
Meanwhile, the ICC has also revealed the list of match officials for the upcoming IND vs SA final in Barbados, and it has some big names in it. Richard Illingworth and Chris Gaffaney will be the on-field umpires for the final, while Richard Kettleborough will be the third umpire and Rodney Tucker is the fourth umpire. Kettleborough is one of the most experienced umpires going around. He has played in 115 Tests, 164 ODIs, and 58 T20Is at the international level.
England’s Illingworth also has good experience; he has done umpiring in more than 300 international matches, while Gaffaney was also the on-field umpire in the IND vs ENG semi-final. India have lost the ICC finals of 2014 T20 World Cup, Champions Trophy 2017, 2023 ODI World Cups, and World Test Championship 2023, and Richard Illingworth was the on-field umpire in all those finals. He will be standing once again in the IND vs SA final on Saturday.
