Every possible franchise is looking to retain some of their quality players ahead of the IPL mega-auction, as there have been significant changes made to the retention rules. KKR, the Kolkata Knight Riders, went on to win their third IPL title under skipper Shreyas Iyer and head coach Gautam Gambhir.

According to some reports from Revsportz, the likes of title-winning skipper Shreyas Iyer might be dropped from the KKR side, while Rinku Singh is to be retained for a value of around INR 15 crore.

The dynamic finisher from KKR has had a dream season playing for the Knight Riders in the IPL as well as starring for India in the T20 format internationally. As per the reports, if KKR parts ways with Shreyas Iyer, KKR might be in the hunt for a new captain in the IPL 2025 mega-auction.

While also the likes of Harshit Rana, who despite getting multiple calls never earned a cap for India, will be retained as an uncapped player alongside Ramandeep Singh, who is currently playing in the Emerging Asia Cup for India A.

With the amount of calibre produced by Shreyas Iyer, he might be roped into any side like the Punjab Kings or the Delhi Capitals, who are in need of a new skipper.

While the likes of Sunil Narine and Andre Russell’s inclusion into the side doesn’t seem very likely, as nothing has been reported about them, however, the release of these two giant all-rounders from the KKR side would be a huge opportunity for other franchises in the mega-auction.

The newly appointed mentor, Dwayne Bravo, would be playing a very crucial role in retaining the list of players ahead of the mega-auction, while the choice of the next skipper is also under the radar. This auction would be very vital, as this would lay the foundation for the next three years for the franchises, while the Windies legend would look to strengthen their bowling and all-round department.
