The TATA IPL 2023 will be underway in the second week of March. There is word going around that the tournament will begin on the 20th of March. In cricket, there is an old adage that “Batters win matches, but good bowlers win tournaments.” Based on these lines, many IPL franchises have the best bowlers in their squads. Many big names will be featured in the TATA IPL 2023. So, here is a look at the top 5 bowlers who can possibly be the purple cap winners in this season of the IPL:

Kagiso Rabada will Play for the Punjab Kings in TATA IPL 2023:

KG Rabada is always the talk of the town. Even if he is not in form, he manages to get the yorker very accurately. His express pace makes him more lethal. He is a blue-chip bowler. Meaning that the captain can always expect great 4 overs from him. Even if the other bowlers have a bad day, KG will give you his best shot. His economy rate hovers around 7.5 to 8.2. He has played 63 games in the tournament bagging 93 wickets. He may go for the big runs but he will eventually get you the wicket.

Rashid Khan will Play for the Gujarat Titans in TATA IPL 2023:

Rashid Khan needs no introduction. Each one of us is equally aware of how good Rashid Khan can be on his day. He made his debut in 2016 and since then, the batters are yet to decode him. The IPL has seen Ajantha Mendi fail, it has seen Sunil Narine have a dry patch too but Rashid and his magic are yet to be decoded. This shows the sheer ability that this magician has. He has an unreal economy of 6.37.

Rahul Chahar will Play for the Punjab Kings in TATA IPL 2023:

Indian leg spinners have slid down very quickly in recent times. Earlier you had a surge in their number. You had the likes of Shreyas Gopal, Mayank Markane, and even Rahul Chahar. Chahar was picked over Yuzi Chahal in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. Rahul will make an outstanding comeback in TATA IPL 2023. He played a season for the Punjab Kings and looked a little off-color but champions are those who make a comeback. He has an economy of 7.51 and has experienced 46 IPL games.

Kuldeep Yadav will Play for Delhi Capitals:

Kuldeep Yadav has his confidence back. His confidence is what has got his belief back. He is becoming India’s strike bowler once again. His flighting the ball freely shows that he has an attacking nature. The national team has backed him and that has added value to his career as a whole. The KKR franchise didn’t use him effectively but the Delhi Capitals did. The presence of Rishabh Pant helped Kuldeep too. He is very tough to pick because of his quick round-arm action. Kuldeep is a true asset when he bowls at an economy of 7.8. He has played 59 IPL games and has bagged 61 wickets.

Jofra Archer will Play for the Mumbai Indians:

The biggest positive for the Mumbai Indians this season is the presence of Jofra Archer. He is playing in the SA20 League. This eventually means that his availability in the TATA IPL 2023 is almost certain if he doesn’t get injured. Bumrah and Jofra are going to be one lethal combination. Archer has been an asset to the English team and was an integral part of the success of the Rajasthan Royals in 2019 and 2020. He is unrealistically super quick and beats the batter with sheer pace. He has 46 wickets in 35 IPL games at an economy of 7.2.
