5 new signings for CSK who can be match winners in IPL 2025
Expected Stars for CSK in IPL 2025

CSK, the Chennai Super Kings, are said to be the real kings of the Indian Premier League. Having a legacy of over 14 seasons in the IPL, the CSK side is led most often by MS Dhoni and has qualified for the playoffs 12 times. Alongside this unique record, they have achieved another impressive record of making it to 10 IPL finals, where they have managed to win 5 IPL trophies.

As of now, the command of the Chennai Super Kings and their immense legacy have passed onto the young hands of Ruturaj Gaikwad, the expert batter who has been very consistent for them over the past few editions. CSK has always shown immense faith in their players and has likely retained their players.

CSK have once again included players like Devon Conway, Rachin Ravindra, and Mateesha Pathirana on their side, while several new inclusions might also seem effective for CSK in the upcoming IPL season.

Top 5 Signings for CSK in IPL 2025 who can turn out to be match-winners:

1. Sam Curran

English all-rounder Sam Curran is back with the Men in Yellow after some seasons with the Punjab Kings. Curran has evolved as a world-class all-rounder in the shortest format of the game, playing across several leagues around the world.

Curran recently concluded his stay with the Desert Vipers in the ILT20, where he played a stunning knock in the final as he made a quickfire 62* towards the end phase of the innings. Curran, despite his team losing the cup, won the player of the tournament award owing to his all-rounder brilliance, as he was the fifth highest run-getter in the competition alongside his 7 wickets.

For the Men in Yellow, he will be a very handy batter down the middle order and could add more power-hitting capacity alongside Dube. His bowling could also be as effective, especially with CSK lacking experienced seamers.

2. Ravi Ashwin

CSK maestro Ravichandran Ashwin played nearly 10 years of his beginning career with the Chennai Super Kings since 2008, the inaugural season. Ashwin was a regular wicket-taker and will excel again in the spin-friendly tracks of Chepauk.

Ashwin, who is a master bowler and a much more responsible batter, can form the stellar duo alongside Ravindra Jadeja; his experience could come in handy for the CSK unit.

3. Anshul Kamboj

Anshul Kamboj made his IPL debut for the Mumbai Indians in 2024, and CSK looked heavily interested in the Mumbai all-rounder as they climbed the stacks and got the best for the bowling all-rounder.

Kamboj can be an effective batter down the order, often known for crucial cameos coming in at no. 8 or no. 9, while Kamboj has recently gained much stardom with his effective pace bowling. He made the headlines for picking 10 wickets in an innings in domestic cricket recently.

4. Noor Ahmed

Afghan spinner Noor Ahmed remained under the shadow of veteran Rashid Khan both in the Gujarat Titans and the Afghanistan camps. However, the spinner can act out his full potential in the CSK dressing room under experienced guidance from cricketers like Ashwin and Jadeja.

With a track like Chepauk and a man like MS Dhoni behind the stumps, this will be a huge opportunity for the young man from Afghanistan to excel in the IPL, and CSK might also go with 3 expert spinners, as Ashwin and Jadeja can both bat efficiently.

5. Khaleel Ahmed

Khaleel Ahmed has often been underrated despite his good performances in the DC camp. Playing for the Capitals, he was their key bowler with the new ball as he often picked crucial wickets, but what made other franchises draw attention towards him was his efficiency in bowling well in the death overs.

Khaleel Ahmed will be the second left-arm pacer in the CSK team, and he might be seen sharing the new ball alongside players like Sam Curran and Anshul Kamboj, as Pathirana is their go-to death-over specialist. Khaeel Ahmed’s ability to generate early swing with the new ball makes him an asset during the powerplay overs
