MI vs RR: Top 3 Memorable Matches

1. The Rajasthan Royals played against the Mumbai Indians on May 14, 2009. The Royals were put into bat first, where Quiney scored a subtle 50, while Smith and Pathan got out early. Jadeja further posted a good 42 that ended the inning with 145 runs. 

In return, MI’s top order collapsed, and before Tendulkar slammed a 40 and Abhishek Nayar scored a battling 35 off 18 balls, the Indians were restricted to 2 runs short of the total by the RR bowlers led by their skipper Shane Warne. 

2. After March 13, 2010, when the stunning Mumbai Indians batted first and after short cameos from Jayasuriya, Tendulkar, and Tare, two stunning middle-order batters, Saurabh Tiwary and Ambati Rayudu, scored 53 and 55, respectively. They put on a massive 212. 

In return, Rajasthan took their total to 208 when Yusuf Pathan played an inning of a lifetime as he demolished the MI bowling attack with a 37-ball 100, and Dogra supported with a 41 from 29 balls. However, Malinga restricted them to 2 for 22 in his 4 overs, where they won the match by just 4 runs. 

3. The third memorable encounter between these two teams was on April 17, 2013. Rajasthan posted a total of 179, as Rahane remained not out on 68, along with Watson’s 31, Yagnik’s 34, and Hodge’s quickfire 27 off 15 balls. 

The Mumbai Indians, comprising the legends Tendulkar, Ponting, Karthik, Rohit Sharma, and Pollard, could still not manage anything as they got all-out for a humiliating score of 92 after Faulkner took 3 wickets and Chandila and Binny managed 2 wickets each.
