The 3rd T20I in the India VS South Africa T20 Series saw South Africa beat India by 49 runs. This is a whopping margin in the T20 game. The top players of the game were Rilee Rossouw with the bat alongside Quinton De Kock. And with the ball, it was KG Rabada. For India, Dinesh Karthik made a limited effort with the bat. But the target was just moving away by the minute. Here is a quick review of the game:
India VS South Africa 3rd T20I, First Innings:
The first innings belonged to the South African batting. The initial few overs witnessed the dismissal of Temba Bavuma at 3. But Rilee Rossouw and Quinton De Kock turned the tide on the Indian Cricket Team. They were clinical in their approach. Every poor delivery perished. They made sure every loose ball was hit to the fence. They took on the short balls and took advantage of the sorter ground dimensions. Rilee took South Africa to 120 before De Kock perished via a run-out. The innings further got worse for the Indian team. Tristan Stubbs walked in and he played second fiddle to Rossouw. Rossouw was hitting the Indian bowlers for fun.
He got to 50, 75, and then eventually a hundred in no time. Tristan Stubbs also hit a few lusty blows. Before he was out while playing a ramp shot. David Miller came in and did what he does best, hit sixes! He scored 19 runs off 5 balls and took the South Africans to 227/3 in 20 overs.
Brief Scores:
South African team: 227/3 (20 overs)
Rilee Rossouw: 100 runs off 48 balls.
Quinton De Kock: 68 runs off 43 balls.
Umesh Yadav: 34/1 (3 overs)
India VS South Africa 3rd T20I, Second Innings:
The second innings saw Rohit Sharma walk back to the pavilion on the second delivery of the innings. KG Rabada sent him back. From then on, the Indian innings just looked like it was slipping away. Shreyas Iyer walked in but he wasn’t able to control the inning. He left India stranded at 4-2. Rishabh Pant had opened with Rohit and was at the non-striker’s end. He took Lungi Ngidi to the cleaners for two sixes and two 4s but on the last ball of that over, he was out. Dinesh Karthik took Maharaj to the cleaners. But was out playing a switch hit. It was a poor selection that cost the Indian batting.
Dinesh and Rishabh were batting very well. Their scores of 46 off 21 balls and 27 off 14 balls, shows that they were in good touch. Surya also walked back to the pavilion but it was due to a very good catch by Tristan Stubbs. India then scrambled and scored 178 of their 20 overs. India eventually lost by 49 runs.
Brief Scores:
Indian team: 178/10 (18.3 Overs)
Dinesh Karthik: 46 runs of 21 balls
KG Rabada: 1/24.
