ICC Champions Trophy 2025

The Annual General Meeting of the ICC was held in Colombo. It was a four-day event which saw all the cricket board members present and discuss key points. There was news that the BCCI would submit their proposal for the hybrid model for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

According to the BCCI’s request, they want India’s matches to take place in Sri Lanka and the UAE, just like this Asia Cup 2023. But as per the report from News18, there was no discussion regarding the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 as it was not on the agenda.

An official who was part of the AGM confirmed, “It wasn’t on the agenda, so it wasn’t brought up or discussed during the Annual General Meeting.” The PCB chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, and the BCCI secretary, Jay Shah, were present at the AGM in Colombo. India and Pakistan don’t play a bilateral series and play only in multinational tournaments.

India visited Pakistan for the last time in 2008. But because of the political tensions between the two countries, they don’t play a bilateral series anymore. That’s why India refused to travel to Pakistan for any tournament. Notably, Pakistan have already submitted the proposed schedule of the tournament to the ICC.

According to that schedule, India will not travel much and will play their three group matches in Lahore at Gaddafi Stadium. It is still a question whether India will travel Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 or not. And only the time will tell whether Pakistan will host it completely or India will play their matches on netural venue.
