IND vs SA: South African greats like, Marco Jansen and fast bowler Gerald Coetzee will mark their return to international cricket in the upcoming month’s T20I series against India after a huge conditional break.
This was as Jansen featured last against India in South Africa’s T20 World Cup final appearance, while Coetzee last featured for them in May. These two were given as extended injury breaks owing to their shoulder or hip niggle.
Both Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi, the black pace duo, have not been included in the T20I series against India, as they will next prepare for the home series against Sri Lanka and Pakistan, and only a win streak can help them rise above in the WTC table as Proteas can look to feature in their first ever WTC final.
Afterwards, Anrich Nortje opted out of a national contract, he has also been placed into the Squad for the home series, as informed by Rob Walter.
South Africa called back important players in the squad, including World Cup campaigners Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller and Keshav Maharaj. The skipper of the regular side will lead the squad, as Aiden Markram will have Ryan Rickelton and Reeza Hendricks balancing in the top order.
Some new inclusions have also been made to the squad, which include the likes of Mihlali Mpongwana and Andile Simelane, the two bowlers who were picked from the CSA T20 Challenge, as these two were contributors to joint highest wickets.
