IND vs BAN: India under newly appointed skipper, Suryakumar Yadav, have won their second series in a row, as they won the last T20I series under Gautam Gambhir as head coach against Sri Lanka. After the initial series win, the Men in Blue now have an upper hand over Bangladesh as they extend a 2-0 lead over the neighbouring side.
India made a commanding presence in the Gwalior T20I as well, as the Indian bowlers restricted Bangladesh to a very small total. The Indians, in return, chased down a timid score in just 12 overs, as Hardik, SKY, and Sanju smashed the ball and seemingly hurried onto the total.
For the second T20 international, the action shifted to the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Winning the toss, Bangladesh opted to bowl against the Indian side, as India faced an early struggle with Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma, and skipper SKY going back to the pavilion for just 20 runs on the board.
It was when newly drafted all-rounder and one of the brightest prospects for India, Nitish Kumar Reddy, stepped into bat at no. 4 alongside Rinku Singh, who also came into bat at no. 5. The two middle-order batters starred for India, as Reddy played an invincible inning with the bat.
Nitish batted at a humongous strike rate of 217 as he turned everyone speechless with his 27-ball 61-run, as he ended his tally of runs on a well-scored 74-runs. Also, India’s one of the most promising talents in the shortest format of the game, Rinku Singh, scored a 26-ball fifty, even one ball less than his partner NK Reddy.
All-rounder Hardik Pandya and also Riyan Parag, who was sent in at no. 7, dominated the finish to the Indian innings, as Pandya once again played a handy cameo of 32 runs off just 19 balls. India posted a huge 221 runs in their innings for the loss of 9 wickets.
In return, the Indians on the bowling front saw Nitihs excel with the ball as well, alongside Arshdeep Singh as they shared the new ball. The next wicket-takers were Varun Chakravarthy, Abhishek Sharma, and Washington Sundar, who all picked crucial wickets, while Mayank and Parag also picked a wicket later.
India took the lead in the series with a 2-0 win at Delhi, as India won over Bangladesh with a huge margin of 86 runs.
