ICC Award: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for the month of September during the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup match.
In which the names of two star cricketers of India have been nominated. Another name for this award is a famous cricketer from England who has made it to the list for ICC Men’s Player of the Month Award for September 2023 with his consistent performance.
Shubman Gill (India)
The rising star of Indian cricket was in great form in the month of September and scored a total of 480 ODI runs at an impressive average of 80.
Gill scored two half-centuries and an impressive century against Bangladesh as India won the Asia Cup and then continued that form in the ODI series against Australia.
The right-handed batsman scored a brilliant 74 runs in the series opener in Mohali and improved that performance by reaching triple figures by scoring 104 runs in the next game in Indore.
Mohammed Siraj (India)
The right-handed batsman bowled some excellent spells during September, but what really stood out was his match-winning innings of six wickets against Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup final.
Siraj smashed Sri Lanka’s batting line-up to pick up impressive figures of 6/21 and played a major role in helping India claim the coveted Asia Cup trophy. Overall, Siraj took a total of 11 wickets in the month at an average of just 17.27.
David Malan (England)
The reliable left-hander displayed his class for most of September and claimed the Player of the Series award for his performances during England’s ODI series with New Zealand.
Malan played three matches during that series and recorded scores of 54, 96 and 127 to showcase his skills ahead of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in India. The top-order batsman scored at a rapid pace, earning an overall strike rate of 105.72 during the New Zealand series.
