New Zealand’s all-format opener, Devon Conway has recently rejected a central contract and will be seen only in a Casual playing contract. The South Africa-born cricketer started his career with the domestic sides before moving to New Zealand in 2016.
Since then, he played across franchises for New Zealand and it was announced that Conway can now be allowed to play for the New Zealand national side. Devon Conway since then has played matches across all formats for the Blackcaps.
Keeping aside his international success, Conway has emerged as one of the greatest T20 batters in the world. Devon Conway first joined the Chennai Super Kings, the legendary IPL franchise in 2022 and since then he has been one of the team’s most valuable players.
Conway scored as many runs as he could in both the 2022 and 2023 seasons, though he failed to fancy his chances in the last IPL season due to his injury, Conway yet remains one of the most valuable players in the world.
With a mega-auction being held this year, before the IPL 2025, Devon Conway can likely be one of those players the Men in Blue would again look to retain in the tournament.
The left-handed opener also stars for the Texas Super Kings in the Major League Cricket, the United States Super Kings franchise. Also, he played a very vital role in the team’s race to the playoffs in both seasons of the MLC.
This will be the third season for the SA20, an initiative taken by the RSA Cricket Board and players from around the world are now part of the league.
