DC vs KKR Match Highlights: The Delhi Capitals have slipped down in the points table after their loss against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. The Axar Patel-led side, which had a great start to their IPL 2025 campaign with four consecutive wins.

Kolkata Knight Riders, on the other hand, also looked to bounce back after fortune favoured them when the last match at the Eden Gardens was washed away due to rain against the Punjab Kings, who had also put 200+ runs on the board. KKR would target a bounce back with consecutive wins, as they eye a playoff spot with 15 points till the end of IPL league stage games in IPL 2025.

The Kolkata Knight Riders batting unit played stunningly in the powerplay, as Gurbaz and Sunil Narine smashed runs in the first three overs in the powerplay, with most of the runs coming against Dusmantha Chameera in the second over of the powerplay.

Mitchell Starc went for runs against Gurbaz in the 3rd over but responded back with a wicket in the last ball when he dismissed Gurbaz with a stunning yorker fired at the stumps. Rahane also scored quick runs in the powerplay, but both these two batters were dismissed by Vipraj Nigam and Axar Patel immediately after the powerplay.

The Capitals bowlers responded back quickly with wickets in the middle phase and especially at the death overs, where Starc picked two more wickets in his final over. Capitals could pose a target of 205 in front of the Knight Riders.

Faf du Plessis is playing his second game after his return from injury, as he smashed a stunning 62 at the top to give Delhi Capitals their chance in the huge chase. Porel and Karun Nair fell too early, and KL Rahul had a very unfortunate dismissal, being run out by a direct hit from Sunil Narine.

This changed the course of the game and took everyone by shock, as Narine does not have the reputation of being the fastest or the fittest of fielders on the field. Axar Patel, on the other hand, played a handy 43-run innings in the middle phase, which kept the scoreboard ticking for the Capitals.

Sunil Narine changed the course of the game with two wickets of Axar and Stubbs in the same over, while his final over came with the wicket of set batsman Faf. This was another major shift in the course of the game, which had started to look a bit one-sided.

It was now on the Delhi youngsters, Vipraj Nigam and Ashutosh Sharma, to finish the game for the Capitals, as 57 runs were needed from the final 4 overs of pace bowling. Varun Chakravarthy bowled the 18th over of the game and dismissed Ashutosh Sharma, Delhi’s last hope in the chase. Vipraj Nigam showed some fireworks in the death overs, but it was too late for the pinch hitter to affect the course of the game, as Capitals lost the game by just 14 runs.
