Despite the immensely strong performances in the England series, Alex Carey has been dropped from the squad, owing to his sole status as Australia’s Test wicket-keeper— Carey at the back of strong performances in the Sheffield Shield. Hence, Josh Inglis will be Australia’s only wicket-keeper in the ODI squad for Pakistan.
The absence of Matthew Short and Jake Fraser-McGurk might be the new Australian opening pair as Travis Head is dropped due to his paternal leave owing to his and Marsh’s family commitments, as they are about to have their childbirth ahead of the series. Alongside, the ODI series the Australia A practice matches against India A before the BGT will clash against each other.
