Ravichandran Ashwin created history by dismissing Jonny Bairstow early on the first day of the fourth Test between India and England in Ranchi on February 23.
After LBW Bairstow, Ashwin became the first Indian player to take 100 Test wickets against England. Bairstow was initially given not out, but after a review the on-field decision had to be overturned in India’s favour.
R. Ashwin currently has more than 100 wickets versus Australia (114) and England (100).
Along with his 100 wickets and 1000 runs against England, he has also amassed 1085 Test runs, making him the fourth player in history to accomplish this feat after Gary Sobers (West Indies), Monty Noble (Australia), and George Giffen (Australia). have evolved into.

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah, in a tweet, congratulated Ashwin for his remarkable achievement and described him as ‘one of the greatest spin bowlers in cricket history’.

The off-spinner crossed another milestone in the last Test in Rajkot. On the second day, Ashwin took his 500th wicket in Test cricket by dismissing Jack Crawley.
He joined an elite group as the ninth bowler in Test history to achieve this feat, following in the footsteps of Anil Kumble and being the only other Indian bowler to do so.
India started well by taking five wickets in the first session but Joe Root’s 31st Test century helped England present a strong challenge.
With the help of Ben Fox (47) and Ollie Robinson (31*), Root (106*) managed to take the visiting team to 302/7 at stumps on the opening day of the fourth Test.
All-rounder R Ashwin is now one match away from playing his 100th first-class Test for India.
