Bangladesh won the first match of the Asia Cup 2025 Super 4 round against Sri Lanka by 4 wickets at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. It was a thrilling game between both teams; they played fantastic cricket, and the player of the match was Saif Hasan, who played a match-winning knock of 61 runs for Bangladesh.

The Sri Lankan Team could have done better with the ball, especially in the death overs; however, they played good cricket and fought till the last over. This game was very important to get ahead in the race of the Asia Cup 2025 finals, as their remaining two matches are against India and Pakistan, which is not going to be easy to win.

Bangladesh played superb cricket, their batting and bowling department were upto the mark in this game. Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh Match Highlights:

Bangladesh won the toss and they decided to bowl first. The Sri Lankan Team came to bat in the first inning, but they had a decent start in the powerplay, lost only 1 wicket but the runs on the scoreboard was quite less. Both the openers, Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis, played a decent knock of 22 and 34 runs, respectively.

When these openers got out, Sri Lanka lost a couple of wickets in the middle overs, and their batting almost collapsed, but then, Dasun Shanka played an important and crucial knock of 64 runs for his team and led to the 168 runs in 20 overs.

From the Bangladesh bowling department, Mustafizur Rahman and Mahedi Hasan bowled exceptionally well. Rahman got 3 wickets, whereas Hasan got 2 wickets and led Sri Lanka to a decent score.

While chasing, Bangladesh lost their first wicket in the first over of the second inning, but Saif Hasan took the charge from one end, and he put Sri Lankan bowlers in pressure throughout the match and played a match-winning inning of 61 runs with a strike rate of 135.66. Later on, Towid Hridoy played 58-run inning, which led his team to easily chase the target.

Sri Lankan Bowlers could have done better, Wanindu Hasaranga and Dasun Shanaka were the only bowlers who troubled Bangladeshi batter otherwise, they were continously hitting other bowlers.​
