Ravi Ashwin retired from all formats of international cricket just before India headed to the MCG for the Boxing Day test. Ashwin’s antics in the longest format of the game make him one of the most renowned names with the red ball.

Ashwin, who will no longer be seen playing for the Men in Blue, was picked by the Chennai Super Kings for a huge 9.25 crore in the IPL mega-auction. The Chennai town boy has returned to his home and will be seen in the yellow jersey at Chepauk.

However, his sudden announcement of international retirement during the post-match conference in Brisbane raised speculations if Ashwin will be available for the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL.

However, as soon as the star cricketer landed in India and, while facing the Indian media, he made it clear that he has a high preference to continue playing the IPL until he excels for them in the tournament.

“I am going to play for CSK, and don’t be surprised if I try and aspire to play for as long as I can.”.

Australian speedster Josh Hazlewood has been ruled out of the remaining Border-Gavaskar Trophy due to the injury he sustained while bowling against India in the first innings of the Gabba test.

Hazlewood dismissed the likes of veteran Indian batter Virat Kohli before he was taken off the field and later reported to be seriously injured.

However, Josh Hazlewood, as per reports, has claimed that he will be back with the Aussies on their red ball tour to the Sri Lankan islands, as the series will be essential from Australia’s point of view, especially if they do not manage to win the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Josh Hazlewood will be an essential asset to the team, with Cummins and Starc, the two quicks, not being of much help under subcontinent conditions, which do not help pacers. Hence, Hazlewood, alongside Nathan Lyon, will be the core player to lead Australia’s bowling attack.
