IND vs AUS: Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Indian cricket team, continues to struggle with his form, scoring only 19 runs in three innings against Australia. Despite being one of India’s key players, his inability to convert starts into significant scores has put additional pressure on the team’s batting lineup. After the dismissal, he did a gloves act, which has sparked rumours of the end of his Test career.

The Indian captain has been enduring a tough patch for the past few months, with his performance falling below expectations. Despite his experience and leadership skills, he has faced challenges in consistently scoring runs, which has led to growing concerns.

During day 4 of the third Test match between India and Australia of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Brisbane, Rohit Sharma looked comfortable as he came on the strike. The batter was exercising patience to wait for the ball; he preferred to play a shot. Despite playing 26 balls, Rohit fell once again for a score of 10 runs.

Australian captain Pat Cummins bowled a fuller-length delivery outside the off stump in order to tempt the Indian batter. Rohit Sharma fell into the trap of Cummins as he nudged the ball straight into the hands of wicketkeeper Alex Carey. Following the dismissal, the Indian captain was seen disappointed and visibly frustrated, reflecting his struggle to find form.

He briefly shook his head before walking back to the dressing room, clearly upset with himself for not capitalising on the opportunity. His body language spoke volumes about the pressure he felt, both as a leader and a key player in the team. While reaching the pavilion, Rohit Sharma placed his gloves in front of the dugout, just behind the advertisement board.

This gesture sparked the buzz about Rohit Sharma’s retirement from the red ball format after struggling to get runs for a long time.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma started the year 2024 with a bang by scoring consistent runs against the England cricket team, putting behind a lean patch that had plagued him in the latter half of the year. He needs help to convert his starts, losing his wicket cheaply.

His last 13 Test match innings are: 6, 5, 23, 8, 2, 52, 0, 8, 18, 11, 3, 6, 10.
