WPL 2025 Auction: Women’s Premier League 2025 mini-auction to take place on December 15 in Bengaluru | Retained and Released Players | Purse and Sold & Unsold Players: WPL 2025 Auction: The Women’s Premier League (WPL) mini-auction for the third season will be held in Bengaluru on December 15, 2024, according to confirmation from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Teams are working hard to bolster their rosters at the time of the announcement.
WPL 2025 Auction: Women’s Premier League 2025 Auction Details
There will be 19 slots available in the mini-auction, of which 14 are reserved for Indian and 5 for overseas players. Each team will have a budget of up to Rs 15 crore and can include a maximum of 18 players in their squad. A maximum of six of these players can be overseas.
After retaining players, the Gujarat Giants have the biggest budget, Rs 4.4 crore, and have four slots vacant in their squad. This provides a significant advantage for them, putting them in a strong position to sign key players.
Women’s Premier League Tournament Format and Defending Champions
The 2025 season will feature 22 matches, reflecting the growing popularity of this league. While the BCCI is yet to confirm the tournament window, it is believed to be held between February and March.
Royal Challengers Bangalore, led by their dynamic captain, will take the field as the defending champions. Their impressive performance in the last season has raised expectations, making them a team to watch out for.
