The most successful franchise in the history of the IPL, the Mumbai Indians (MI), have won the IPL title five times in the history of the tournament. Before entering the mega-auctions, they retained their core side.
The core side included the likes of skipper Hardik Pandya, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, and lastly the young and talented Tilak Varma. Considering the sheer form of their batters, they remained silent on the first day of the auction, acquiring only the likes of Trent Boult as a major bid alongside Robin Minz being the newly scouted player for the franchise.
MI entered the IPL auction with INR 45 crore after having spent the amount of 75 crore on their player retentions. Though their auctions didn’t seem very likely decision-made, their squad looks quite formidable in the making.
