Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have been one of the most successful franchises in the IPL and have won the tournament five times. However, they did not qualify for the playoffs last season under the captaincy of Ruturaj Gaikwad. This time around, they used the IPL 2025 mega auction to assemble a strong squad.
CSK used₹55 crore to retain five of their key players ahead of the auction and entered the auction with a purse of₹65 crore. Now, let us take a look at the strongest predicted XI of CSK with the players that they have in the squad in IPL 2025.
The openers for the team will be Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad. Gaikwad is the captain of the team and was retained by the franchise. He has scored 2,380 runs in his IPL career of over 66 matches. Conway has also performed very well for the franchise and hence was bought for ₹6.25 crore. He has scored 924 runs in 66 matches in the IPL.
Rahul Tripathi slots in at number three for the side. He was bought for Rs 3.40 crore in the auction. Meanwhile, the prolific batter from New Zealand, Rachin Ravindra, will bat at number four. He was picked up at Rs 4 crore using the RTM card.
Shivam Dube has been a power hitter for CSK in the middle order in recent seasons and hence will bat at number five. He was retained by the franchise for ₹12 crore. The star all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja, was retained for ₹18 crore and will play at number six. He has amassed 2,959 runs and 160 wickets in his IPL career.
MS Dhoni will be the wicketkeeper-batter in the side and will bat at number seven after getting retained by the franchise for ₹4 crore. Ravichandran Ashwin made his homecoming for ₹9.75 crore during the mega auction and will slot in at number eight. Sam Curran, Khaleel Ahmed, and Matheesha Pathirana will be the three pacers in the side.
