India’s star all-rounder, Hardik Pandya, has now become the number one ranked all-rounder in the ICC T20I rankings. His ranking has increased by two spots, and he has increased his rankings from number three in the list. Pandya has 244 rating points and he has a lead of 13 points over Dipendra Singh Airee, who is ranked second in the list.
Earlier, Liam Livingstone was at the top of the list but now has had a downfall of two places. Pandya did not have a good outing with the bat in the recently concluded four-match T20I series against South Africa. However, he was instrumental with both bat and the ball in the three-match T20I series at home against Bangladesh.
Hardik Pandya has been in phenomenal form in white-ball cricket
The Indian all-rounder has been a very reliable presence with both bat and ball in India’s T20I lineup.
He has contributed significantly to India’s T20 World Cup 2024 win. He accumulated 144 runs in the tournament and played some of the most destructive and significant cameos to win matches for his side. Pandya had maintained a strike rate of 151.58, showing his capability to score quickly.
Pandya has been equally effective as a bowler as well, as the all-rounder picked 11 wickets with a higher bowling average of 17.36, which seemed very impressive from the point of view of the World Cup. His half-century knock against Bangladesh seemed instrumental in India’s World Cup campaign.
Pandya had a lean outing in the IPL 2024 and also faced a lot of criticism for replacing Rohit Sharma as the captain of the Mumbai Indians. However, the Baroda all-rounder showed incredible determination to turn the tide around and win over the hearts and minds of all the Indian fans around the country. Now, his becoming the number one T20I all-rounder in the world does justify his performances.
