Team India is set to face off against Australia in the highly anticipated five-match Test series in the IND vs AUS Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024/25 starting from November 22 at the Optus Stadium in Perth.

Indian cricketers are already in Perth and are getting ready for the Test match. They were set to play a practice game against India A but instead decided to play an intra-squad game on November 15. Reports stated that India’s star batter, Virat Kohli, suffered an injury and had to go for scans just a week ahead of the start of the Test match.

Basically, all the Indian fans and supporters were tensed regarding the news as he is so important for India’s success in the Test series in Australia. It is not clear what kind of injury Kohli has suffered but he did have to go for a scan on November 14.

Times Of India has reported that Kohli is absolutely fine and had no discomfort while batting. So, there are absolutely no concerns regarding the former Indian captain. “Virat Kohli is absolutely fine. He batted in the match simulation without any discomfort and also had a hit in the net after he got out. No concerns there,” a source told the news outlet.

Meanwhile, KL Rahul also suffered a blow to his elbow and had to walk off the field. However, TOI has reported that it was just a precautionary move and the Karnataka batter is absolutely fine. The Indian captain and the opening partner of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rohit Sharma is set to miss the first Test due to personal reasons.

So, in all possibilities, Rahul is going to open the innings for India along with Jaiswal in Perth. Rahul was sent to Australia ahead of the Test series to play for India A and also opened the innings. However, he failed to score runs and has faced a lot of criticism for his poor display with the bat in the longest format of the game.
