Smriti Mandhana, the famous Indian women’s cricketer, whose fans often draw comparisons with the likes of Virat Kohli, went on to achieve a famous feat for the Indian team.

Mandhana, while playing for India in the final ODI match of their home series against New Zealand, scored a stunning hundred to give his team a series win over the visitors. With this, Mandhana marked her eighth hundred in the format as she surpassed former skipper Mithali Raj to emerge as India’s leading centurion in the white-ball format.

Mithali Raj, the great veteran cricketer, remains to be the World’s highest-ever run-getter in the format, while she also got 7-hundreds in her career alongside 64-fifties for India. Mandhana went past the ex-skipper and was followed by her current skipper, Harmanpreet Kaur, who has six hundred as well.

India found centurion Mandhana and skipper Kaur’s fifty leading them to the winning cause as India lifted the trophy against Kiwi women by a series margin of 2-1.

Fans have a lot to say about Mandhana’s history created at the Narendra Modi Stadium

“It’s impressive that Virat Kohli has achieved 50 centuries in men’s ODIs, while Smriti Mandhana has made her mark with 8 centuries in women’s ODIs. These achievements showcase the immense talent in Indian cricket and make the nation proud!” claimed an X user, who seems assured of the immense talent India possesses.

“Mandhana’s form has been wild lately, straight up rollercoaster. But hey, solid knock and props on the” while some fans seem relieved that Mandhana could slam a fitting reply to her criticism off lately.

“Jersey No. 18 prevails,” as some again drew comparison with the great Virat Kohli, as both these cricketers share the same jersey no.

“Jo kaaam choray na kar sakhay wo choriyaan kar gayeh.” The user had his frustration over the Indian side losing the Men’s Test series to New Zealand, while the Women’s dominated with a 2-win in the ODI series.

“That’s why we called her QUEEN,” a comment sparking her status of comparisons drawn with the great Virat Kohli.
