AUS vs PAK: World Cup-winning captain, Pat Cummins who will be leading Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India, will return to international cricket since the T20 World Cup as he is named the Australian skipper for the Pakistan series this summer.

The ODI series played in the longest format of white-ball cricket will begin with the first ODI scheduled to be played at the MCG which is to begin on the 4th of November. The Aussies have hence named their 14-member squad for the home series.

Cummins has taken off from the sport since last featuring for the San Francisco Unicorns in the MLC final and will return with a domestic One-Day treatment from October 25th.

Marcus Stoinis the big Victorian all-rounder is about to make a comeback into the national side, as Cameron Green the most settled all-rounder has been ruled off cricket for the next six months owing to his back injury.

Also, pace bowling geniuses, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazelwood have also been added alongside Cummins to spearhead the ODI bowling attack, while they might be rotated with a clear approach to feature in Sheffield matches before the ODI series.

Despite the immensely strong performances in the England series, Alex Carey has been dropped from the squad, owing to his sole status as Australia’s Test wicket-keeper— Carey at the back of strong performances in the Sheffield Shield. Hence, Josh Inglis will be Australia’s only wicket-keeper in the ODI squad for Pakistan.

The absence of Matthew Short and Jake Fraser-McGurk might be the new Australian opening pair as Travis Head is dropped due to his paternal leave owing to his and Marsh’s family commitments, as they are about to have their childbirth ahead of the series. Alongside, the ODI series the Australia A practice matches against India A before the BGT will clash against each other.
