Star Indian batter Rinku Singh has often emerged as one of India’s most desired players who enjoys a great fanbase despite his short career. Rinku has been part of the Kolkata Knight Riders camp since his debut in the IPL, though initially, he was not ready for the global league. He trained and toiled in the KKR camp to emerge as one of the finest young finishers of the competition.
Rinku gained limelight in the IPL 2023, as he emerged as Kolkata Knight Riders’ leading run scorer in the absence of skipper Shreyas Iyer. Rinku’s most memorable innings list back to the five sixes he hit against Yash Dayal playing against the Gujarat Titans. The Knight Riders needed a 28 in their final over, as the left-arm pacer was hit for five consecutive sixes of the first five balls and led his team to a victory.
However, despite all his greatness and even his heroics for the Indian team, Despite his very initial career, he has won matches for the Indian team with the bat and often has been coined the best fielder as well; he was not picked in India’s 15-man squad that travelled to the United States for the T20 World Cup. Though Rinku was a part of the 4-member travelling reserves, which also included rising icon, Shubman Gill.
The Indian selectors had to face the outrage of the Indian fans for not having selected Rinku for the main team; however, they reasoned with Rinku’s weak form in the IPL and lack of domestic matches played this season. However, this caused a major disappointment in Rinku’s half.

However, in a recent interview, Rinku Singh explains how his skipper Rohit Sharma walked up to him and explained that there is nothing to lose hope for, as he is too young and still has many such opportunities awaiting him. He also opened up to News24 Sports that Rohit has advised him to keep working hard with a brighter future surely waiting for him.
Rinku is currently playing in the UP T20 League and is seen captaining the Meerut Mavericks and made a wonderful contribution as he hit a six to win the game for his side against the defending champions Kashi Rudras.
